Customer Reviews

Really Nice Pen, Worth The PremiumThis review is specifically for the 0.3. I use this pen primarily for bullet lists and journaling. My pen tendencies lean toward nylon tip art pens or fountain pens (both have their place, I just use them differently). I had used Sakura Pigma Microns in the past. While I loved the pen and its pitch black ink, I went through a LOT of them as their nylon nibs just did not hold up. I don't press very hard when I write, but the nylon would always end up pushed into the pen making it unusable far before the ink ran out.Not so with the Staedtlers. They are a little more expensive, but I am actually able to write with them until the ink runs out. The nylon nib holds up, they feel great in hand and the cap is fantastic. The ink is not quite as dark as the Sakura when viewed side-by-side, but you would never notice if you weren't comparing. For me, these pens are worth the premium price as they will reward you with a full service life.5Lasted 2 daysI love these pens for my work on genealogy. I received this pen this week and I was able to use it 2 x before it appeared to run out of ink. I am very disappointed.1Good pen but feels chalkyDoes exactly what it s supposed to do. It doesn t bleed at all. The only reason I gave it four stars is because it feels like writing with chalk. I prefer a much thinner writing pen, so it s not for me, but is a great pen nonetheless. I ve attached a picture to see how the writing compares with others. You can see that even for a 0.5 mm, it does come out quite thick compared to others.4Best fine point penI've been using another kind of pen with a very fine point for years -- don't know what made me try these instead, but I'm so glad I did. They are superior in every way. The tip is very fine but also strong, so the pens last longer. Feel great in the hand too. My new favorite by far.5I LOVE this penI got the 0.3. I LOVE this pen. I use it in my bullet journal and it is a pleasure to write with. It hasn t smudged at all. The tip is different from other pens I ve used. Instead of a ball point that rolls on the page it s like writing with a mechanical pencil in the way the point scratches the surface when it makes contact. I like the weight of it and how it seems like a quality thing. I have a feeling I ll be getting another when this one gets used up.5Fine and accurate pen for when you need it.The 0.05 is extremely fine tipped, accurate, and perfect for inking arts and crafts drawing that needs extremely fine details. That's some good German engineering in there! For just taking notes or everyday tasks like writing down your grocery list it is a bit overkill though, and a bit expensive besides. I would definitely get mad if I lost one of these so it stays at my writing desk.5Good pen at first but if you're buying it to ...Good pen at first but if you're buying it to write as opposed to drawing, the stub/tip gets pushes inward and eventually you're writing with what seems like just a metal barrel. Pretty sure I still have a lot of ink in mine, but I can't use it anymore cause the stub/tip's completely pushed up.2An essential tool for professional presentation of a digital photographyAs an artist and photographer, it is customary to sign and title each print, either on the bottom border or on the back. For print media used in digital printing, a pigment liner like the Mars works better than most other options (like a fine Sharpie). The line produced is strong and non-bleeding, and it goes on smoothly, and doesn't dig into the surface. A small but important part in the overall presentation of an art piece.4Excellent Pen!This is a great pen, although I ordered a 0.05 tip instead of a 0.5! It works well and the texture of the barrel makes it easy to grip, while still feeling comfortable in my hand. I also purchased a set of Sakura Microperm pens, and they have a smooth barrel which I don't like as well. It's a personal preference that I didn't think much about until I had used them both extensively. I plan to order more Staedtler pens with a variety of tip sizes, only because I like the feel of them better than the Sakura Microperm pen.5Dark, Thin Line - Perfect for Bullet Journaling!I bought this pen for use in my Leuchtturm 1917 bullet journal. I needed something that wouldn't bleed through (like my Sharpies do), that would dry quickly and permanently, that had a fine, but dark line, and that wouldn't smear or "drool" like roller ball pens so often do. (I know you know exactly what I mean!)At first I wasn't a huge fan of this pen because, while it writes beautifully, the tip has some drag while I'm writing. It's not like the glide of a roller ball pen. I mind it a bit less now that I've been using it for about a week. Mostly I'm thrilled at the dark line the ink makes, and the fact that I don't have to worry about the pen "drooling" all over my page! The ink dries quickly, but you do have to wait a few seconds for it to completely dry - otherwise it might smear a bit. I also let it dry much longer before highlighting over it, or it will smear. This is a pricier pen than I usually buy, but I might be a convert. Even my boyfriend has tried to steal this pen from me. ;) He'll be getting one as a gift very soon.5
