    Good value, moderate quality.I use these trays for homeschool activities. They are definitely on the "cheap" side, but aren't as awful as some of the other reviews make it seem. I would say the price is what you're getting. The sides are thick, but the bottoms are very thin though thick enough to not bend with a small ceramic bowl on it. My biggest issue is that they are slightly splintery. I'm thinking I might coat them in a finish to make them more water resistant and seal in the raw wood splinters. I will probably upgrade to nicer wood trays at some point.4These are great. But head of warning there is a small ...These are great. But head of warning there is a small separation base. When I poured my paint into it it slowly dripped out as it dried and I had to sand off the drip marks on bottom. I now tape the backs prior to painting and pouring into them. This wouldn't be an issue if you just paint them with a brush.4High Quality at a Great PriceThese boxes are awesome! My talented craftsman boyfriend was even impressed with how well they were made, and even more impressed when i told him what I paid for them. I did have to do just a bit of sanding before painting, but not enough to deduct from the overall rating of five stars. At the same time I ordered these, I ordered a more expensive tray. It went back the same day. It was horribly made. I'm sticking to this set, and placing another order today.The pictures below are of the almost-finished trays I have since added resin to them, but do not have pictures of them. They're awesome!5Great Cheap TraysThis set was perfect for making a divided tray for a small chest. One tray was approximately the right size, and I used 2 other trays to make dividers. I used a homemade stain of steel wool and vinegar to stain the wood. I then used Howard Feed-N-Wax. I posted some photos. The third photo shows a cross section of the trays. These are not for heavy duty use. The floor is thr thickness of 3 layers of laminate.5Perfect for our home classroomCan't beat this price. I just got my segond set.Perfect for our home classroom.5Worth It as CRAFT project.... BUT...Worth It to use as a craft project, maybe for the top of a dresser or vanity. But... I was hoping to use it as a serving tray. The bottom is not sturdy if you want to use as a serving tray. If you were using this as just a craft project to perhaps paint and hang on a wall, maybe it would be okay. But I was planning on painting them and using as mini serving trays.They are too flimsy for everyday serving or transporting of coffee and toast to the nook.3Great for the priceThese are great for what you pay. They're pretty thin and light, not super durable, but will hold up fine for everyday use. I painted them bright yellow and use them to display merchandise at a booth. Looked really sharp. They are awesome when it's time to pack up and I can just nest them together and tuck them under an arm. I have transported them a number of times with no issues.4A great deal for one, let alone a set.We needed something to transition into a DIY Zen Garden- this was, by far, the best price for comparable trays, let alone an entire set. They are perfectly ready for a paint job or good stain and very sturdy. The only thing I would suggest is sanding the corners and edges a little once you get them as the seams are quite abrupt.5Great Montessori must have!Very affordable option for montessori activities and work trays. Light weight and good sizes. Children easily carry them. I chose to keep them unfinished and they work as intended.5Flimsy and unfinished "trays"These are unfinished and break easily. These are made from really thin wood and you will need to paint or finish them if you want to use them and not get splinters. They are also way smaller then I expected. None of them are big en ok ugh to hold a regular sized plate, so as trays they aren't great. They would be good for creative people who want to paint them and use them to serve tea or use the as decor.Personally, I don't have time for the dyi thing atm so there are just sitting unused, with the exception of the on that broken a few days after arrival.3Decent Real Wood Trays PRO'S: these real wood trays are pretty useful sizes, they nest easily and they look decent (not too fancy). The wood is a pleasant blonde color. Type of wood is unknown, but it may be a soft pine that has been very lightly sanded on most of the surfaces.CON'S: they're on the flimsy side (thin wood) and won't hold up to much heavy usage. Construction (in China?) appears to use wood glue (unknown toxic chemical composition) applied rather sloppily in places (as a furniture shop teacher, I'd give the maker a "C-"). There's no wood joinery that might make them more sturdy.A few coats of heavy lacquer or paint would constitute a major improvement. We'll probably decide which two of the sizes we use the most and do that with ours.We can recommend them. 3
