    Not the best... These brushes were okay, but they made my art project much more difficult than necessary. My boyfriend and I had a paint and wine date at home and we followed an online tutorial. These brushes didn't pick up much paint and resulted in a very streaky finish. The small brushes flayed out when used and I couldn't get a thin line no matter what I tried. There was also a lot of hair fallout, with little brush hairs ending up all over my painting. Some of the brushes were better than the others but overall I wouldn't recommend for anything requiring a clean and tidy look. 2Wow! what a high value item!!! this set far exceeded our expectations!... some reviewers spoke of poor quality and uneven cut tips...not our experience, whatsoever... this is a very high quality set... very well made and very robust; i attempted to pull out bristles on each one of the 23 brushes(2 are foam) and could not extract a single nylon bristle... all tips are cut clean & straight, there is a full variety of sizes and styles, and just an awesome set at a terrific value for the arts & craftser, the craftsman, the tinkerer, the beginner artist, etc. ... a truly fantastic set...worth much more than the $5.26 as add-on item... i would say easily worth $20!very pleased... Thank you! :-) 5... because she likes to paint and goes through brushes like she's nuts Bought these for my daughter because she likes to paint and goes through brushes like she's nuts. She has used these with acrylic paint on canvases and said they work well. I like them because you get a wide variety of brushes for a relatively low price, especially if you aren't like my kid and leave them in dried up paint for days. If you are stocking up on art/paint stuff, I would recommend this set which includes hella brushes as well as everything else you need for painting. It even included stuff I had already purchased separately like the plastic pallet, paints, and canvases. The small detail brushes are too flimsy and you cannot really get fine detail out of them because they spread out even if just using the very tip. For the price though I cannot complain too much. I would however recommend for a class of children. You get a lot of brushes of different sizes and with the price could buy multiple packs. 4They fell apart. When they arrived I opened them up and saw that one of the brushes didn't have any bristles. I looked closer and saw all the bristles were at the bottom of the package. I thought, well... that is just one brush out of so many. I tried out a few of the other brushes in the package and they shed horribly. I think maybe it is okay to pick out one bristle every now and then from a cheap set but as I started to paint with them I was losing bristles in clumps. I tried using a pliers and clamping the metal piece that holds the bristles together but it just did not work. Thank you, Amazon for letting me return this set. 1Save your money. I was hoping for way better. Loew Cornell is a quality brand and I figured if their name was on these, that they had to be ok. What I didn't realize was that the only place their name is featured is on the plastic bag. The plastic bag that ripped to shreds when I opened it. The brushes are labeled "contemporary crafts" and are all made specifically for this brush set.Many of the brushes have bristles that are stuck together right out of the package. Some of the brushes are warped and the wood is pretty low quality. I'm hoping some alcohol will dissolve whatever is gumming them up, but I'm not too hopeful.Basically, the price seems too good to be true because it is. Save your money and buy some brushes that are useable. 1This brush set has been fantastic for me (new to painting) This brush set has been fantastic for me (new to painting). The only thing it's missing that I need is a fan brush. I've had zero problems with bristles falling out. The big brush pictured in the center of the pack looks pretty rough and ready, but the rest have all worked really well for me. I've been painting with them daily for about a month now and consider this a great deal on a ton of brushes that have allowed me to do anything I've wanted. 5While not for Da Vinci's Mona Lisa, these are great for beginners and brush killing tasks. You do not buy brushes like this expecting a flawless brush. You buy brushes like this for things that may destroy brushes. That is why I got these. They're adequate. I will be using these for varnishes and other brush killers saving my higher quality brushes for better tasks. I do recommend rinsing them to free the already loose bristles and some may need a trim. Again, these were not bought with great expectations. If you are in need of any brush these are perfect for you. If you are wanting something that is reliably average, these are great. Loew Cornell is a consistent brand and these match the quality of the first set I got when I was ten. Twenty plus years later? Same quality. These are not for your masterpiece. 5For amateurs, these brushes are fine. Use once and throw away... I used these brushes to paint with acrylic paint in order to restore a concrete statue of Mary that my departed mother loved. The statue had some areas where large areas of surface needed to be painted, as well as intricate detailed areas around her face, and hands, feet, and gilded belt area that required particular attention. The assortment of brushes afforded me the opportunity to paint each area with the exact sized brush that the job called for to accomplish the task. I was very, very impressed, because, for the price point I was not sure what I would be getting. There are even two sponge brushes for larger projects. 4I would say a good half of the paint brushes the tips were hard ... I would say a good half of the paint brushes the tips were hard and unusable. At the time I had no option but to use them. The ones with the blue handles were perfect, but the rest I pretty much ended up having to throw away because it was like there was glue on the end of the brush. 2
