NOT DMC ThreadI ordered this thread thinking it was the same DMC thread I have used priviously. When the thread came, there was DMC brand on any of the bands of thread. It does read Prism Tie Dye and have the picture of a wrist with several bracelets. The thread is NOT strong and seperate/breaks after using for two or three stiches. Very frustrating!! Wasted money and a great deal of time trying to make this thread work! Disappointed!!1Not proper embroidery floss; might not be returnable. This is 6 strand floss made by DMC but it isn't proper embroidery floss. It doesn't have a standardized number code and isn't easy to separate into strands. I would have returned it but for some reason it is ineligible for returns even though I bought it from Amazon directly (not a 3rd party) and it comes in a sealed plastic pouch.1One StarThese threads are not DMC. This is some other brand designed for friendship bracelets, not cross stitch.1Save your money! This is NOT DMC floss. Impossible to separate into 3-thread strands for traditional embroidery needs. There is no sheen on this floss and it knots up easily. There are multiples of the same solids/variegated colors - not 105 different colors. I would like to return but seller doesn't allow returns. Do not waste your money on this mess of poor quality floss.1Not the real DMC, be warnedThis is a different company, "DMC Prism". I knew this, and I bought it just for bulk floss for learning. It works fine for that, but it is not the high quality DMC floss, which is made in France. Clearly intentionally misleading though. Made in China. It is duller and rougher than real DMC, to the point where you wouldn't want to mix the two in a piece.3Nice NeonSuper bright colors, with a nice silky feel.I have used these to stitch with, and it hasn't snagged or frayed. It's easy to pull strands and doesn't fray or bleed. We usually use this to make friendship bracelets and while it's on the thicker side (as neons usually are) it's still easy to knot with and stays smooth.Great selection of brights, really great price. Plus, this comes in a hard plastic sleeve vs a plastic bag. So it's easy to store before using.5Awesome colors, only 18 an and no bookletI'm sending some of these to my son as part of a camp care package since his bracelets from last summer that he wore all year finally gave out. So I would not be sending all 36, but I was looking forward to it coming with the booklet as advertised. It does not have a booklet and is not a 36 pack, it's an 18 pack. It looks exactly like the image. The top part of the package unfolds to reveal a "Free Project Inside!" which has no pictures and would be confusing to a child who isn't well skilled in bracelet patterns.3This package gives a nice variety of colors
This package gives a nice variety of colors. However, this is not high-quality thread. This would be great for friendship bracelets/macrame, but if used for cross-stitching, the thread is prone to breakage. Also, it's hard to separate the skeins when you first take them out of the package--threads are tangled between skeins, and some labels are stuck to each other. It's a decent buy if you need thread on the cheap--but you get what you pay for.
3Decent for what they areThese are not the DMC brand, and they are not easy to separate for two-stranded embroidery. However, for what they are, they re not bad. Just don t expect for the numbers to match your embroidery. I did see a couple with knots in them, but that s to be expected for the price.I m currently using these to hand sew felt figures, and they re working well for that purpose. I might also use them to teach my daughters how to hand-sew or to make friendship bracelets. Even some basic embroidery, as long as we aren t following a particular pattern.4Breaks while you stitch. It's not at all what I thought it was. The way it was listed, I thought it was floss for cross stitching (which means you can pull the threads apart), but this is more like embroidery floss. The colors and pretty enough, but when you use them (because I needed these for a project) they kept breaking with the friction of being pulled through fabric. I had to keep starting over due to all the breakage. If you cut these into shorter lengths, because it's all one length, it's a bit easier and there is less breakage, but it still breaks. I'll likely not purchase this brand again.2So many beautiful colors!I bought the jumbo pack for friendship bracelets and I love the color options! My bracelets have come out so beautiful. If you want a whole lot of very colorful thread to make bracelets with, this is the stuff! It s not very high quality but you can t tell in a bracelet! I didn t get a picture of all of the thread but I included a picture of all the purples just for reference.5
