    Perfect for socksI have only recently heard of chiaogoo needles through a youtube review video. To be certain of the quality and ease of knitting socks I checked for reviews on Amazon. I am very pleased to report that this needle and length is perfect for knitting 2-at-a-time socks. The yarn slid very nicely and did not catch where the needle meets the cable as my other needles had. The cable is very flexible in order to keep my sides of my socks tight. I am very happy with these needles and I will be ordering more.5Great qualityExcellent needles! Cord doesn't crimp or become stiff. Very comfortable and tips are great for place stitches. The measurement of 40" is from needle tip to needle tip.5Great So FarI purchased these 40 inch US 7 in order to start my first baby blanket. So far I really like them. I put myself in the beginners category but I think I am coming along quite well so I might be able to move to intermediate, ha ha. Anywho, the cord on them is awesome to me. It is very flexible and does not curl up while I am kniting. There is a smooth transition from the needle to the cord and I have not had any issues with the yarn getting stuck there. They seem to be durable, but I suspect I will not be able to know for sure until I get further along with the blanket. Sometimes my tension is a bit much so I am trying to be mindful of that but so far no issues. I will try to post a picture once I make a little more progress. I also have a set that are 60 inches (still US 7). By the way, the point on the needles is fairly sharp. I am still geting used to holding my needles the same way the entire time which also means I am still working on not using my working finger to press down on the needle in order to get my stitches off. I will let anyone know that is doing that like me that is probably not a great idea. My finger is fairly sore since the needle is so sharp. However, once I get in my motion I don't do it as much and everything is all good.... At this time I can recommend this product.5At Last! Sproing-less Circular Needles!I LOVE THESE NEEDLES! The connecting cord is sproingless! It has no "memory" whatever. It is completely passive and goes whatever direction you bend it. If you've ever had to fight a nylon connected circular needle, you will love these needles for this feature alone. Second, the Red Lace product line has a long taper to the needle tip that is excellent for lace knitting. This long taper makes things like knitting or purling three stitches together or multiple yarn overs much easier. The needles are stainless steel and slick, which some might not like. However, ChiaoGoo makes wooden needles as well. The quality of these needles is excellent. The connecting cord to needle connection is very secure and smooth. I am in the process of changing out all my knitting needles to this brand because of all their good features and excellent product quality. I knit continental style (feed yarn from left hand) and I can get up some speed with these needles.5Expensive but worth the priceLoved these in spite of the expensive price. I ended up paying over 16.00 for them after s&h costs. My favorite part of these needles is the actual needle part itself. I have lots of double pointed circulars but they are rather short and don't give me a lot of lee way. These needles were 5" long without that bend at the beginning that lots of circular needles have. They were smooth and the points were ( how can I say this ) sharp without poking me in the finger. I don't know how that can be but it is. The plastic line that connects the two needs is flexible and smooth and most important: It doesn't curl! They are lightweight and very comfortable in my hands and I can say without hesitation they are my favorites over all of my knitting needles and I would be embarrassed to admit how many pair of needles I actually own.5Big disappointment!!I was sent the wrong size needles--the correct size was shown on the paper attached to the needle--however, I could see when I looked at it that it was not correct. Under the top piece of paper was another paper showing the size it really was. Big disappointment!!!1ChiaoGoo Red Lace are the BEST needles for me.Those aren't the Red Lace in the picture, but they are ChiaoGoo and I wanted you guys to read this. I have tried many other brands, and ChiaoGoo do not have a catch where the needle meets the cord. And the Red Lace are so flexible for sock-knitting 2 at a time. Also, the shafts on the Red Lace are a little shorter, also important for making the delicate stitches in lace patterns and for knitting socks.5First time using ChiaoGooI ve been knitting for 20 years but This is my time using this brand. I bought the size 2 in the 40 inch length to be able to knit socks using the magic loop method. The tips are nice and pointy allowing to easily work with fine weight yarn and small stitches. The needles are very slick and smooth, feel nice in my hands. The cord is so nice bends easily for magic loop without having any memory or catching on stitches at the join of needle to cable. Addi turbos have been my favorite needles in the past but haven t used them for socks or magic loop and have a blunt style tip. Quality wise these seem just as nice as the addi needles but with a very pointy tip. My only complaint about these would be it s really hard to see the needle size marked on the needles.5
