One of the greatest Christmas albums of all time!Enjoy Christmas with the wall of sound! Some of the best Christmas songs of all time. Christmas, Sleigh Ride, Winter Wonderland! Fantastic!5STUFF THAT IN YOUR STOCKING....Timeless, and meant to be shared with the next generations.....[Phil Spector's] the "Wall of Sound" blasted a massive hole in our old Christmas standards and gave the world the gift of these holiday rock classics......so, stuff that in you stocking ~ or, someone else's! Ho-Ho-Ho....S. Claus5This Darlene Love at her best in her dayThis Darlene Love at her best in her day. She still performs and her live shows give you goose bumps. She is that good. A must have for any Darlene Love fan.5One of the great pop albums of all timeA Christmas Gift for You is not only one of the greatest holiday pop albums of all time, but it is also one of the greatest pop albums, period.Listed in Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums at number #142, it is great from beginning to end-the Ronettes, the Crystals, Bob B. Soxx and the Blue Jeans and Darlene Love all gave great performances(Love's "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home the standout).Get it! Get it!5A truly legendary rockin' Christmas albumOn this one 1963 album, producer Phil Spector and his band of soultown singers laid down a amazing number of of some of the most famous rockin' Christmas songs of all time -- songs we still hear over and over again on the radio and the streaming services each year. These songs and their high-energy sparkling arrangements capture a special time in American pop music -- the last year before the Beatles broke over the world and changed things dramatically. It's simply great. A must have for the season.5The Wall of holiday sound! This album is a must have for your Christmas collection! The Rondettes version of Frosty The Snowman is a lively version of this Christmas classic, My favorite singer on the album is Darlene Lov.. Particularly, when she sings, Christmas (Baby Please Come Home). You can see why Dave Letterman ends his last show of the year with Love's singing this song with a full orchestral and coral accompaniment, imitating Spector's rich , full, "Wall of Sound. The only drawback to the album is the last track. Here Spector speaks, wishing the listener a merry Christmas. Though the album was recorded 50 years ago, it sounds creepy considering that spector,s in prison for murder.5Stunning 'Wall of Sound' Goosebump inducingAll too often internet based customer reviews or Amazon reviews heap adulation, praise and superlatives all over a work yet ultimately the book, album or film fails to meet the lofty expectations. That's definitely not the case here; some of Spector's stuff on this exemplary CD is flat out goosebump inducing.Spector's 'A Christmas Gift for You' is a compilation of arguably some of the best studio sessions in music history. Recorded over just a few weeks in 1963 in Los Angeles, the album had the misfortune of being released on the very same day that Oswald assassinated JFK. It was then re-released in the early '70s and started to garner the attention it deserved. Rolling Stone magazine recently ranked it as the 142nd greatest album of all-time regardless of genre.Director Martin Scorsese utilized vast chunks of this album to astonishing effect for different scenes in the greatest film of the last 30 years, 'Goodfellas.'Do not miss this. The famous 'Wall of Sound' is extraordinary and fits a 1960s record perfectly, it still holds up and dwarfs contemporary Christmas music.5excellent!C'mon....it is my music of the '60's...how can there be abything wrong with this cd...brought back memories of high school, my senior year Christmas dance.......excellent!5RED VINYL!!! Awesome. This album is one of my wife's favorites around the holidays. We recently have gone retro and purchased a turntable earlier this year and so purchased a vinyl copy of this holiday classic. The vinyl description for this album is a bit lacking so I thought I'd add some additional info.First of all, the album I received is quite a bit thicker than traditional vinyl. It feels like one of the the 180 gram pressing records I've purchased, but I have not been able to confirm if is a 180 gram pressing. It has some heft to it.UPDATE: Confirmed, this is a 180 gram pressed record. Also, to my great surprise, this album is RED vinyl. I was expecting a standard black record. Typically colored vinyl is reserved for special editions of albums. The Amazon description said nothing about this being a red colored vinyl record. As always, bundling Autorip with vinyl records is a fantastic service from Amazon. So not only to I have the vinyl record, I get a digital copy too. Ripping vinyl to digital can be done at home, but it takes patience and extra software to remove the subtle pops, clicks, and white noise. Including a clean digital copy is pretty much getting a 2-for-1 deal. Thanks Amazon! Finally, the sound is fantastic on this record. No defects, skips, or tracking issues. This will be a joy for many holidays to come!5Best Christmas album. No cheesy songs and no repetitive standards. This is the greatest Christmas album. There are only two types of Christmas albums: 1. Collections where people are returning to standards. 2. Albums with one new Christmas song (-that is immediately dated) followed by...a collection of standards. This is the album that will give you traditional songs that won't sound cheesy. And the original songs made for this album stood on their own without causing listeners to blush at the overuse of keyboards....Ya know what? This is also one of the greatest albums of all time. Let's just say it. Put it on in June and you'll wonder why you stopped playing these songs.5
